Nanolumens had plenty of eye-catching display technology to show off at its Las Vegas Showroom grand opening event, but none quite like its new AWARE digital display platform.

Now available, the AWARE platform is the first of its kind to leverage Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, Google Android OS and Amazon Web Services to deliver real-time remote diagnostics, media playing and optimized software applications in one system accessible through one portal from anywhere in the world.

According to the company announcement, AWARE addresses the industry’s growing need for a simpler solution that eliminates hardware within a complex eco-system while allowing third party developers to create the next generation apps that will make displays more engaging, useful and accountable.

“We want to be to displays what smartphones are to cell phones,” said Francis Dramis, Chairman of the Board of Nanolumens, at the Las Vegas Showroom event. “From a control standpoint, no one else has this. It makes us incredibly unique.”

With the release of its AWARE product, Nate Remmes, vice president of corporate development for Nanolumens says in the announcement that the company is differentiating itself from all LED competitors.

“Our software-enabled hardware creates a path that gives customers and partners a more useful solution for the entire lifecycle of their displays. AWARE is a win-win for the entire industry — customers, developers, marketers, and consumers. Everyone benefits from the development of this platform.”

AWARE combines hardware, services and software into one integrated solution that can be purchased and embedded in a display or as a stand-alone add-on to an existing display.  The core applications available at launch include a built-in media, weather, sports, news, HTML 5, social media and audience measurement.

Remmes says that the AWARE platform is built on APIs to ensure that the system is adaptable to existing AV eco-systems while also providing AV integrators and service providers a wholly useful tool.

In addition to the AWARE platform, Nanolumens also showed off its NanoWrap and NanoSlim display technology. Click here to view images of these displays from NanoLumens’ Las Vegas Showroom grand opening event held during InfoComm.
