INOGENI Introduces BYOM 4KX-PLUS Device

Published: 2021-12-14

INOGENI, a Canadian-based designer and manufacturer of video conferencing solutions has introduced the 4KX-PLUS, an HDMI to USB 3.0 converter that enables third-party meetings (BYOM and BYOD) such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom with Cisco Webex Room Series.

The device connects cameras and microphones to any laptop allowing guests to start a meeting on their own and instantly take control of the Webex Device.

Users can leverage the programmed macros in their Webex Room Series devices. They can also benefit from the intuitive interface on the Webex Touch 10 or Webex Navigator.

The 4KX-PLUS has a direct integration with Cisco room equipment (screens, cameras and audio), and can resolve interoperability issues, optimize all meeting room assets, and the license fees for Cloud Video Interop (CVI) service and user management.

INOGENI’s 4KX-PLUS is compatible with the following Cisco solutions:

The 4KX-PLUS has been designed for easy access to the Cisco Webex system by a laptop with third-party CODEC software. The device can work with any virtual meeting room software, such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet or BlueJeans.

INOGENI has been working with Cisco since 2020 on this solution.

Gilles Chouinard, president and CTO at INOGENI expresses his pleasure on working with the Cisco team. “They have an in-depth understanding of customers’ needs and the challenges they face during these unprecedented post-COVID times. Cisco developed specific macros to create a USB Mode on its Webex system,” Chouinard says.
