LG Introduces New Line Of Smart TVs for Cruise Ship Cabins

Published: 2021-08-23

LG Business Solutions has released a new line of Pro:Centric Smart TVs designed for cruise ship staterooms and crew cabins equipped with customizable hospitality and entertainment interfaces for cruise ship operators.

The new TVs are available in sizes ranging from 22 inches to 43 inches and come with voice-control activation and Wi-Fi capabilities, allowing cruise lines to offer a variety of services and entertainment options for their guests and crew.

The Pro:Centric Smart TVs also offer specialized service menus so cruise operators can create custom branded digital experience.

The new displays designed for cruise ships come as the hospitality industry looks to rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic and as cruise lines hope to recapture their customers who have stayed away due to the public health crisis.

According to LG, the 43-inch class 4K UHD cruise ship smart TV displays images four times sharper than HDTV thanks to the TV’s 8 million pixels. It also comes with 10W stereo speakers, a 60-pin connector on the back for additional modules, and more.

The 32-inch class and 28-inch models feature compatibility with standard 200×200 and 100×100 VESA wall mounts, respectively, and both have dual 5W stereo speakers. Both LT662V models offer LG’s latest version of Quick Menu, which provides an editable welcome message, date/time and a menu bar of frequently used tools, the company says.

The smaller 24-inch class model is compatible with a standard 75×75 VESA wall mount and dual 5W stereo speakers. It also features a standard desktop mount. The 22-inch Pro:Centric cruise ship smart features 1,920×1,080 resolution and 250 nits of brightness. It’s also compatible with 75×75 VESA wall mounts.

All five models include the Pro:Idiom digital rights management system for access to high-value content.

“As cruise operators begin to welcome back their valued guests, our Cruise TVs will allow them to deliver a catered, carefree digital environment where guests can easily navigate digital video programming and ship-related information,” said Mike Kosla, vice president of hospitality at LG Business Solutions USA, in a statement. “Our cruise TV line will benefit both cruise operators and passengers with increased functionality, simplified operation and a thoroughly enhanced guest experience, just in time for a return to the seas.”
