ISE 2018: Crestron XiO Cloud Supports Company’s Systems

During its ISE 2018 show activities in Amsterdam,  the  Crestron XiO platform was introduced by the N.J-based electronics manufacturer.

Crestron explains that its new XiO Cloud solution offers professional integrators a tool for centralized enterprise-wide configuration, monitoring, management and control of Crestron products, including Mercury, 3-Series Control Systems, and DigitalMedia devices such DMPSs and TSW touchscreens.

“With XiO Cloud, you simply connect a device to the network and it’s automatically recognized,” says Brian Donian, technology manager, enterprise software, Crestron Electronics, Inc.

“There’s no time-consuming programming, and any device in the world can be managed remotely. The device doesn’t even need to be online when it’s configured. It’s simple, worldwide, browser-based management with the network security IT professionals demand.”


Crestron XiO Software as a Service (SaaS) Increases Efficiency

Providing more detail about its XiO Cloud solution, Crestron states that its centralized tool helps IT managers deploy and manage thousands of devices in the same amount of time as it would take to manage a single device.

Through the XiO Cloud’s drop-and-drag functions, IT managers can name devices; they can configure devices and they can organize these devices into groups and subgroups.

Other features that IT managers and professional integrators can employ include optional settings for firmware updates that allow for the ability to automatically update single devices or entire systems.

Device licenses can be also be activated, transferred or removed through the Crestron XiO Cloud platform, and the XiO Cloud’s dashboard provides interactive charts, a searchable activity log and a group status page. All of the information provided in the dashboard is live, and the system also enables full monitoring of every connected device.

According to Crestron, the XiO Cloud’s live monitoring enables help desks and other customer support mechanisms to quickly address any technical issue to maximize their clients’ uptime.
