The newly launched Draper SmartTrim is designed to improve the aesthetics of Barco’s UniSee video wall.
Draper points out that, back in 2017 when Barco introduced its UniSee LCD-based video wall system, the solution provided integrators with an easy-to-install solution that produced high levels of image quality, but the package was missing a visual element.
“They didn’t have any type of solution to trim the perimeter of the video wall,” notes Kevin Barlow, director of business development, CTS-D, Draper, Inc.
“Their mounting system is ingenious, but it requires a frame around it because the mounting hardware protrudes on all four sides. An opportunity was born.”

According to the Ind.-based electronics manufacturer, the new Draper SmartTrim is a product designed in tandem with SMS Smart Media Solutions, a Draper subsidiary based in Sweden.
Daniel Salmonsson, product development manager, Smart Media Solutions, says the Barco UniSee accessory provides an elegant way finish a range of Barco video-wall installations.
“The challenge was to make a trim kit that could easily be installed after the Barco UniSee video wall is in place and installed; allowed easy access for service, had a modular design so it could be adapted to different video wall configurations and at the same time have a great design,” says Salmonsson.
“The team came up with an even better solution than expected. It’s a smart solution and a great product.”
Draper adds that it offers a choice of standard SmartTrim kits for installation with Barco UniSee video walls that include:
- 2×2 configurations
- 3×3 configurations
- 2×4 configurations
- 3×4 configurations
Moreover, Draper provides additional support for UniSee installations with custom configurations to meet the demands of unique, one-off installations that integrators encounter.
