There have been many innovations with LED technology in the lighting industry that have revolutionized how stages are lit. The LED par can is a technology that has been perfected and is still changing. There has been a lack in the market for an LED spot that is powerful enough to compare to stronger discharge lamps. This need has finally been filled by two companies.

Elation Professional showed off its new Satura Spot LED PRO. This fixture has a 320w RGBW LED engine comparable to a 700w lamp. The fixture has features that are comparable to higher end fixtures on the market.

Martin Professional also had it’s new LED fixture called the MAC Quantum Profile. Another LED engine fixture comparable to a 700 watt lamp. The fixture features a gobo load from the Viper and Viper Air FX range of products. A side by side comparison of the the Quantum fixture compared to a 700w discharge lamp showed that the Quantum surpassed the brightness of the discharge lamp.
