InFocus and AOPEN call JTouch Chrome 70 the first large-format, touch-enabled interactive Chrome whiteboard display, specifically designed for the US and Australian education markets.

The JTouch Chrome 70 pairs the 70-inch InFocus JTouch, which features advanced interactive touchscreen technology, including projective capacitive touch, with the AOPEN Commercial Chromebox, according to an InFocus press release. It’s designed to enable teachers and students to learn with the same software and tools they are already using on smaller devices.

Google Chrome is a huge part of the teaching and learning experience, with Chromebooks dominating the classroom, but until now there were no large size Chrome-based touchscreens,” says Mark Housley, CEO, InFocus.

“By partnering with AOPEN and leveraging our years of experience working with teachers and students, InFocus is bringing K-12 schools the large, interactive Chrome solutions that educators have been asking for.”

More from InFocus’ JTouch Chrome 70 press release:

The power and ease of use of cloud-based Chrome devices make them ideal for the classroom, where teachers are focused on pedagogy, not mastering arcane technology. Interactive screens add even more value, with studies showing that they significantly enhance instruction and learning. The global market for pre-K-12 interactive boards is expected to pass USD $1.1 billion by 2020.

“AOPEN has extensive history with Chrome solutions to create powerful, compelling digital experiences. Our solutions are innovative but also robust and require zero maintenance, ideal for a demanding classroom environment, while also coming at an affordable cost. InFocus, with its strong foothold in education, is the ideal partner to finally bring Chrome-enabled touchscreens to the education market,” said Stephen Borg, AOPEN Global Chief Digital Officer.

The JTouch Chrome is the first solution that pairs the award-winning, best-selling InFocus JTouch interactive whiteboard and the AOPEN Commercial Chromebox, enabling educators to teach confidently and powerfully, leveraging their familiarity with the Chrome environment on a large, classroom-sized touchscreen. Continuing InFocus’ long-term commitment to education, these products will be sold with education discounts and as part of its education programs in the US. Available in late Q3’ 2017, the JTouch Chrome will be sold through InFocus and AOPEN partners in the US and Australia.

JTouch Chrome 70 highlights include:

  • Easy and flexible integration
  • Ultra-thin form factor
  • Fanless, tamper-proof design
  • Android applications supported within Chrome
