What Did RTI Add to Its Commercial Amplifier Series?
RTI added four amplifiers and two Zone Controllers to the Commercial Amplifier Series, extending the lineup across 2-channel, 4-channel and 8-channel formats. The new amplifiers include the RTI-AMP-2-125, RTI-AMP-2-125D, RTI-AMP-4-125, RTI-AMP-4-125D, RTI-AMP-8-125 and RTI-AMP-8-125D. Three of those models, marked with a “D,” feature Dante connectivity for multi-zone distribution over IP audio networks. The series targets commercial, residential and entertainment applications.
How Do the New Amplifiers Handle Different Speaker Loads?
Each amplifier drives both low-impedance and high-impedance systems, which removes the need for external transformers or separate product SKUs on mixed-topology projects. The units are built around UMAC Class D output circuitry and a UREC universal switch-mode power supply with power factor correction. That design lets every model power conventional low-impedance loudspeakers (Lo-Z, 4Ω/8Ω) and high-impedance transformer-coupled distributed audio systems (Hi-Z, 70V/100V) equally well. Lo-Z output is rated at 125 watts per channel, while Hi-Z output reaches 250 watts.
What Do the Dante-Enabled Models Offer?
The Dante-enabled models integrate into existing professional IP audio networks with AES67 interoperability, which supports long-distance routing and daisy-chaining without dedicated audio cabling. Configuration runs entirely through a browser-based interface accessible over wired Ethernet or built-in Wi-Fi, so no dedicated software is required.
Installers get granular control over inputs, output zones, per-channel parametric EQ, crossover, delay, limiter, polarity, signal routing and GPIO-based external control from any networked device. Presets can be locked, exported and shared across projects, which reduces commissioning time and keeps tuning consistent from job to job.
How Do the New Zone Controllers Work?
The wall-mounted PoE Zone Controllers give clients control over volume and source selection when a full control system isn’t present. Designed exclusively for the RTI-AMP Series, each controller mounts in a standard single-gang in-wall box and connects to the amplifier over a single Cat5e cable using any standard PoE switch, which delivers both power and data on one run. The RTI-AMP-IWC serves domestic installations, and the RTI-AMP-IWC-EU covers international markets.
