Govro Declared #NSCABLC Twitter Champion

All Systems VP/part-owner wins $100 American Express gift card from FSR for social media prowess.

She fully admits to not always understanding sports analogies adapted for business conferences, but Kourtney Govro knows what it takes to be a back-to-back winner in the ultra-competitive NSCA Business and Leadership Conference Twitter hashtag game.

At last year’s conference, Govro—VP and part-owner at All Systems in Kansas City and CEO at Sphere 3—finished as the second-most prolific tweeter, earning one of two pairs of noise-isolating ear buds. This year, Govro impressed our illustrious panel of judges and will get a $100 American Express gift card from FSR Inc.

During the three-day extravaganza in Tampa, Fla., Govro tweeted more than 145 times, often quoting keynote presenters and other speakers, while occasionally peppering in her opinions on their thoughts and offering insights that played off the speakers’ thoughts.

Govro is joined on the 2015 #NSCABLC medal stand by John Greene, VP of sales and marketing at Advanced AV, and Michael Shinn, operations manager at IMS Technology Services, each of whom will get $25 American Express gift cards from FSR.

Greene, as usual, mixed insight with humor in more than 140 tweets during the show, although he lost points in some judges’ minds by not bringing the stuffed carrot he made famous during and after the 2014 BLC to this year’s show.

In more than 120 tweets during the BLC, Shinn gave his followers a good inside look at everything he was learning at the show, while mocking himself for his lack of skills on the links during the charity golf tournament that preceded the BLC. We’re hoping he’ll use the gift certificate for a private golf lesson in time for the 2016 show in Dallas.

Two other BLC attendees topped the century mark in tweets during the show, showing that social media has evolved into a critical addition to the annual event, which has grown in size to more than 300 people this year. Last year, Govro and overall champion Brock McGinnis of Westbury National Show Systems were the only two attendees to exceed 100 tweets.
