Distributed Audio Systems: 6 Installation Tips

Balance Appropriately With distributed audio installations, 70 volt systems are frequently deployed. Since a 70 volt system uses a transformer per speaker, you can take advantage of those transformers to balance sound appropriately. For example, by tapping speakers at 1 watt instead of 4 watts, the 1 watt speaker will play 6 dB quieter than the 4 watt versions. That’s handy in applications where smaller spaces flow into larger spaces, or where continuity of music is important, but lower volume is desired.
