Nanolumens Offers NanoDesigner Tool for AEC and Design Community

Published: January 20, 2022

Nanolumens, Inc., recently developed the NanoDesigner Room Configurator Tool, an online resource that’s geared to the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry and AV designers. The Peachtree Corners, Ga-based company is, of course, a creator of LED visualization solutions. The NanoDesigner Room Configurator Tool can offer a place to visualize and develop the scope and scale of a project. Moreover, it can simultaneously deliver the necessary files for a construction bid. The tool saves engineering time, and, in addition, it can create a fully exportable package. That package includes spec sheets, array-configuration details (with BOM) and accompanying diagrams.

Nanolumens NanoDesigner Benefits AEC Industry, Designers

Brice McPheeters, vice president, product and planning, Nanolumens, says the company constantly seeks to become a better partner. “We heard from architects and our AV design partners that existing visualization tools work for visualization and renderings,” he explains. “However, they generate a duplication of work, as they need to build the displays into their projects.” Therefore, McPheeters continues, Nanolumens developed its visualizer with a fundamental change.

According to McPheeters, “In the NanoDesigner dashboard, you begin by selecting an environment [and] choosing your display model….” Then, you choose the dimensions to configure various options using the wall-dimension fields. McPheeters continues, “Easily move the display around the environment to see how it will look in your space. This is the configurator we are all used to, but there is one essential difference.” That difference, he said, is this: Once you’ve got a preferred design, you can select a desired file output.

Therefore, in addition to outputting specifications, images and pdfs, the tool outputs volumetric engineering models like Revit and AutoCAD (or other file formats). These are easily droppable into original designs. Therefore, McPheeters continues, “…you can design freely with this intuitive tool. And, with our products, you can curve and flex to meet any architecturally integrated design.”
