Matrox at InfoComm 2019: Intro of Matrox QuadHead2Go, Updates to Matrox Maevex 4K and More

Published: 2019-06-11

Matrox has a lot going on at InfoComm 2019. It’s not just the launch of Matrox QuadHead2Go Series of multi-monitor controllers for deployment of large-scale video walls installations.

It’s not just the expansion of Matrox Maevex 6100 Series dual- and quad-4K enterprise encoders to now offer HLS, IPv6, fMP4, and MOV support for added multi-channel streaming and recording flexibility.

It’s not just the addition of Aggregator Mode to Matrox Extio 3 IP KVM extenders for aggregating multiple video streams.

And it’s not the fact that Matrox is leveraging InfoComm 2019 to promote open standards for AV-over-IP by participating in AIMS’ SMPTE ST 2110 educational presentations and interoperability demonstrations.

There’s a lot going on at Matrox’s InfoComm 2019 booth No. 3055. Here’s a rundown:

Matrox Launches QuadHead2Go Multi-Monitor Controllers

The new Matrox QuadHead2Go Series is an innovative range of multi-monitor controllers designed to deliver an easier and more convenient way to deploy artistic and large-scale video wall installations, according to Matrox.

Available as both a system-independent appliance and single-slot PCIe card, Matrox says QuadHead2Go delivers complete video wall scalability, and is capable of driving up to four pristine-quality Full HD displays, all from a single 4Kp60 content source.

Users who are looking to build large video walls can combine multiple QuadHead2Go units in a Windows 10 or Linux environment.

Matrox Maevex 4K Enterprise Encoders: Major Updates, Expanded Cloud-Service Compatibility

Matrox Maevex 6100 Series dual- and quad-4K enterprise encoders now offer HLS, IPv6, fMP4, and MOV support for added multi-channel streaming and recording flexibility.

  • On-device HLS support enables enterprises to stream to multiple remote devices over the internet, adapting instantly to each device’s unique circumstances to ensure the best quality stream possible.
  • IPv6 addressing allows Maevex 6100 Series encoders to integrate seamlessly with network infrastructures and devices leveraging updated IP addressing.
  • fMP4 file format support allows recordings from Maevex 6100 Series encoders to be more resilient to network and power failures and allows files to be easily recoverable when recordings are interrupted by these types of unpredictable events.
  • MOV is a digital multimedia format developed by Apple, and is widely adopted for high-quality video playback or video editing and management applications.

The Maevex 6100 Series is also expanding cloud-service compatibility with simplified and automated connectivity for today’s most popular services including YouTube, Facebook Live, Wowza, LiveScale, and others.

Matrox Extio 3 IP KVM Extenders Add Aggregator Mode: A New Efficiency-Boosting, Multi-System Control

Taking Extio 3 IP extension and switching capabilities to a new level, this new mode of operation permits an Extio 3 receiver unit to aggregate multiple video streams coming from different Extio 3 transmitter units. Multiple computer desktops can then be viewed and controlled simultaneously from an Extio 3 receiver unit—with a single keyboard and mouse. Moving the mouse across a multi-screen desktop of up to four displays shifts control instantly from one computer to the next, providing users with unprecedented operational efficiency.
