Spinitar was joined by sponsors, family members and friends for a Virtual Day of Giving charity event that raised $55,000 for City of Hope Cancer Treatment and Research Center in southern California.
The Virtual Day of Giving, held this year in place of Spinitar’s annual Golf for Hope event, has led to more than $450,000 in total donations for the non-profit organization in its first six years.
During the special half-hour event, AV industry partners, customers, family, and friends gathered at various remote locations and watched messages from City of Hope Orange County president Annette Walker, actor Andy Buckley and Spinitar principals Jeff Irvin and Jay Rogina.

Those who tuned into the Virtual Day of Giving program also viewed a virtual short game golf clinic, hosted by LPGA Hall of Famer Amy Alcott.
The City of Hope has performed more than 15,000 bone marrow and stem cell transplants with unparalleled survival rates for 13 consecutive years. Their researchers focus on harnessing the body’s natural defenses to fight cancer through an approach known as immunotherapy.
“Unlike the economy, cancer doesn’t pause for pandemics, so neither did we,” said Irvin in the Spinitar announcement. “Thank you to all of our Virtual Day of Giving sponsors, donors, auction item donors and auction winners for their support of cancer research at City of Hope.
“It was another great event for a much greater cause,” he said.

In addition to attending the live broadcast, Spinitar Virtual Day of Giving guests were able to participate in an online auction where they were able to bid on items such as cruises, vacation homes, wines, rounds of golf and more.
