AV Tech Tours at InfoComm 2018 Sound Awesome, So You’d Better Sign Up Quickly

If you haven’t signed up for AV Tech Tours at InfoComm 2018 — Blue Man Group, The Beatle’s Love Cirque du Soleil or Hakkasan’s Omnia Club at Caesar’s Palace — time is running out, says AVIXA’s Rachel Bradshaw.

AVIXA's Rachel Bradshaw discusses AV Tech Tours at InfoComm 2018.

During InfoComm 2018, AVIXA is doing a nice job of leveraging host city Las Vegas as a showcase for AV experience with its InfoComm Tech Tours.

Tech Tours during InfoComm 2018 include:

UNLV campus’s LEED certified Hospitality Hall

“It includes everything from collaborative classrooms to golf simulators, and it was designed in collaboration with the instructors but also with the hospitality community in Las Vegas,” says director of program design Rachel Bradshaw.

Live Performance Experiences

These include Luxor’s state-of-the-art theater for the Blue Man Group and The Beatles’ LOVE Cirque du Soleil audio experience.  In these live experience tours, Bradshaw says, “you get the chance to talk with the technicians, see a backstage area, and then see the show where the technology is used.

“So you get not just the context of how do you use this, [you learn] why was it designed this way, what are your pain points, how does it work for you, but then the context of actually seeing it applied live.”

Lighting, video, audio at Hakkasan Group Night Clubs

These venues are new additions to the InfoComm Tech Tour program. “Hakkasan operates the largest clubs on the Las Vegas Strip, and this tour will visit the Jewel at Aria, the Hakkasan Club at MGM Grand, and then wind up at the Omnia Club at Caesar’s Palace,” Bradshaw says.

Bradshaw doesn’t hesitate to contend that the Omnia is the “coolest property” in the Hakkasan group. “It just is,” she says.

Each club, she adds, presents a “wildly different” use of AV technology to create an immersive experience.

“They’ve all approached the immersive user design in a different way. I think going to be a really fun tour for people who are interested in discovering how you can create different kinds of immersive experiences.”

Bradshaw doesn’t hesitate to contend that the Omnia Club is the “coolest property” in the Hakkasan group. “It just is,” she says.

“The Omnia Club is incredible. It incorporates design elements from the great opera houses of Europe but also has some of the wildest cutting-edge technology you’ll ever see. We also have an in-depth design tour there where we just go to that club and spend some real quality time with the designers, technicians, and operators talking about the design intent about that particular club. I can’t recommend that enough.”

The InfoComm Tech Tours are filling up quickly, points out Bradshaw, so attendees need to act quickly to check for availability.
